We are encouraged to “full, conscious and active participation” in the Mass (called for in one of the documents of the second Vatican council) both in our regular Sunday gathering and our other worship together throughout the different seasons of the liturgical year: Advent, Christmas, Lent and Easter and the ordinary time in between.
In order for these liturgies to be as meaningful and engaging as possible some planning, preparation, review and feedback is necessary. The Liturgy Group include the parish priest, assistant priest, deacon, and representatives of the ministries of music, reading, adult formation and sacramental preparation. We meet 3 or 4 times a year. Please speak to the parish priest if you are interested in finding out more or becoming involved in this aspect of liturgical ministry. Training is available in the form of course in pastoral liturgy run by the diocese is available; but there are other ways of gaining knowledge and experience in this field.
